After the interview

Updated Sept, 2012

Dear Reader,

Being interviewed via telephone for an online radio station is definitely a unique experience!

There were imaginary visuals of a radio station; a virtual station “cockpit” of buttons and microphones; the interviewer sitting with headphones looking elsewhere for a cue from the station manager; even the feeling of a headphone on my own head! Well, as you can tell by reading this, there are only vague memories in my own mind based on movies seen in the past which are causing the above text to be written!

Just call in early, confirm I am the person for the next hour’s program, and call back five minutes before the actual program starts. Call in again, and have Phyllis’ familiar voice say: “Hi Inger, nice to connect again. Are you ready?”

Mental preparations were ready! A few key words written on paper in front of me and off we were! A clear history of Reiki in my life, as well as the history of Reiki in the Netherlands, where I introduced it, and spent most of my now 29 years as a Reikimaster teaching it.

An hour later, with a couple of “station breaks” in between questions and we were done! Wow, that was a fast hour! My head went into question mode:

What else could I have said that would have been interesting and meaningful?

Reiki Principles #2 “Just for today, do not worry!”

In other words, stay in the moment; do not stress about what cannot be changed.

Trust that Spirit did within that hour, with both Phyllis and with me, exactly what was needed. Trust that my higher Self completed the task as called for.

Surely that is exactly what happened, if I read the encouraging comments received after the interview was aired and was downloaded by friends and Reiki students. It is now no longer a download, but you can still listen to it if you care to. Click (or copy/paste) what’s here:

Phyllis Furumoto: “Reiki, Balancing Form and Essence”

Until next time!

Love, Light and Laughter,

I have a question

 Updated Sept 2012

I am just learning about this ‘new for me’ form of writing- “Blogging”. Seems innocent and fun! Or am I just as naïve as people say I am? What do you think about that Form of sharing? Is there a method you use to get to the Essence of the topic?

How does one Balance Form and Essence in writing?

Or do you have another question: like about Reiki, personally transformation and growth or health and nutrition?

Yes… I truly AM interested in your answer! I will likely reply! (mail me )

Now “It” has come – the time to actually go “into the ethers” and maybe even have some readers.  The motivating factor was a request for an interview from my friend Phyllis Furumoto, the Grandmaster, or as she prefers, the Lineage Bearer of the Usui System of Reiki Healing,( I lovingly refer to her as ‘ The Grand Poobah” )the healing form and Essence that I have held close to my heart for 32 years. Elsewhere on this site you will find links to several interviews, including one with Wanja Twan.

As a matter of fact, it will be exactly 33 years on January 11, 2013 when I met Wanja Twan, which started the path of Reiki for me.

New Vision – New Projects

Dear Reader,

Thanks to a gentle nudge from my son, Mike, this will be a self-made project. Well, that is what I had thought and hoped. Then…. As I try to upload text, in a system which has a language of its own, and which I certainly do not understand, I realize I may need a lot of techie help making this website a reality.

Really, I have enough work at trying to learn my fourth language; Spanish. I now live in Costa Rica, not in the Netherlands where I spoke Dutch because I was born there, and lived there again for the last twenty two years. And not in Canada which was the country of my parent’s choosing after the war and where I lived for some thirty three continuous years. And not in Belgium, where I lived for a year while learning some bits of French!

I am now entering Blog-lingo land! And I have to get familiar with the language of a computer programmer?  I am seventy-something years old! How does my brain wrap around some of that computer lingo? How will I get it into this random, non-linear, secondary-reacting People-Person? I do not know, but I am calling on all Help I can access, both physical and spiritual, to assist me!

Of course no one person is an island anyway. I receive a lot of help all the time from various sources. Most of that help comes from “Cosmic Connections”. These occur at times least expected, through sources I do not always know nor have a need to understand. You know, those happenstances, the “co-incidences”, the chance meetings designed by A Greater Force which I personally can only dream of and visualize.

I call them Serendipitous meetings. The word means ‘unsought rewards’. And here is a little known detail. Did you know the word was first coined by Horace Walpole on the 28 January 1754? Back in the 60’s I used to think it was a new word!

Of course dreaming and visualizing is THE way to make those amazing connections meaningful! Under the adage “What you think about you bring about”, the responsibility for my life is placed right into my own court. I get clear, know what I want, write it down in detail point form, feel the excitement, (a very important step in creating something new) and visualize it having arrived with an attitude of gratitude for the already determined outcome. Thus I am becoming a Co-Creator with that Greater Force. I even get so bold as to call that Force God because I am comfortable with that relationship. For me “It” is the same no matter what words I want to use today.

May your thoughts become clear to your conscious mind, and thus may you manifest what you want -  without doubt!

Blessed Be in Oneness,

Love, Light and Laughter,
